In retrospect, I probably should have posted this topic under General instead of Roleplay Fun. Could I get it moved there, pretty please?

More Mega Kudos to the Mighty Scurv: thanks for putting on the masks of Sammy Sampson and Lord Dert over the past two or three days. That's what I like the most about this server and its DM team: they're big enough to be awesome, yet small enough to care about the players. After a solid year of Prisoners of the Mist's DM team ignoring me and almost everyone else just so they could dote all over their handful of pets, I find myself wishing that PI had been up and running two years ago. I wouldn't have had to waste my time with PotM and could have come straight here instead. And I keep hearing similar complaints about the FRC DM team too, now that I think about it....
In short, the DMs here have a magical way of making people and their characters feel like living pieces of their world, not just idling bystanders. Whatever you guys are doing, keep it up. You're rockin' out hard. 8)

Wow, I'm not sure I want to play Prisoners of the Mist, then. I feel like I'm rarely giving enough attention to players.

Oh, it's a pretty sadistic server. The death-and-respawn system alone has turned away many a newcomer. "Ow, I hit a terrain bug and a pack of twelve werewolves mauled me to death! Too bad the DMs are off doting over the Church of Ezra players again. Let's see...there's my corpse. There's my very expensive silver-gilded steel bastard sword and my large adamantine shield, on the ground. There's the rare ashwood longbow that I was wielding right before I drew the bastard sword and shield, also on the ground. There's a bag full of all my Gold...yep, on the ground. No other players are around, and Clerics have to burn diamonds--which are very expensive and rare as hell on this server--to cast Raise Dead and Resurrection on this server, so they might not be willing to help me anyway. Ooookay, I guess I'll walk three miles to the nearest Mist bank and enter the Mists to go to the Near Ethereal. Too bad my ghost can't run. And now I walk this big, circular, curvy path through the Near Ethereal until I go through an even bigger pillar of light...there. Now I'm back at the last Shrine of Ezra I donated to. Too bad I died near Vallaki and my save point here's all the way over in the Village of Barovia. I lost a ton of Experience too, and that dropped me from Level 11 to Level 9. Yeow! Okay, now I have to wait until morning or the fifty-billion werewolves and undead outside will kill me again. There we go. Running, running, running...oops, I'm Exhausted now. Crawling, crawling, crawling...finally! There's where I died! And...some dirty bastard took my Gold and all my stuff while I was dead. Hell with this. I'd rather get raped by a half-demon shemale on Isle of Styss. I'm out." Yeah, it sucks. I wasted a year there, and another three or four months on The Way Inn. Now there's a place to go if you want to meet some power-abusing DMs who won't let you level up past Level 4 (and 6, and 8, and 10...) unless you send them a friggin' application, preferably one oozing with butt-kissing flattery. Those cats are unspeakably full of themselves. Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss was pretty sweet, though. The three DMs were constantly throwing random events and a political development here and there--all meshing quite nicely with the Castlevania universe--and my Transylvanian Wizard ended up getting up to Level 23 and establishing a Hermetic order of wizards in Wallachia. Even the angelic soul of Leon Belmont was coming to us for help at one point! We vowed to keep Dracula from doing too much damage to the local folks, but Dracula was pretty damned manipulative and he tricked us into killing a bunch of his enemies instead of his allies and servants. But it was all really cool. Too bad that server was using Olander's mods from top to bottom; Olander vanished, his mods started turning to suck, Bira/Hippieofdoom (the head DM and admin over there) took the server down to fix it last December and it never came back up. Alas. So that's how I found my way here. ;D Jeebus Rice, I wish I'd found you guys two or three years ago. (Yes, I know; this server's less than a year old. But still...) PI could have saved me a lot of bouncing around. And you're just being modest, Scurvitude. Everyone here knows that you're doing a righteous job. Isn't that right, everyone? ;D

Another round of chunky Kudos to Lucky (as Siriel), Grivel (as Manus) and HolyRedeemer (as Trianne) for our very recent romp up to Ilthan Island's Hilltop. There is no quest so small or insignificant that bringing a party along won't make it more enjoyable. And Siriel actually refrained from killing Serrica's dominated undead beasty this time, so clearly Serrica's influence over our favorite silver-haired elf is tightening its hold. Sorry I was AFK by the time Manus came to visit Serrica in the Mermaid and show off his armor work, but my sister had dropped by to chat with me at the backdoor. Family comes first, I guess. And did I ever kudo Minion for that encounter at the Halfway Forest Tomb? Yeah, even something as simple as possessing a spectre and making it laugh makes quite a bit of difference. And then came the hooded wraiths and visages outside.... Keep up the good work, peeps.

After a long absence, Minimalist surprised me this evening with a few possessed Purple Dragons and a quest to hunt down a pirate. Welcome back, Min. Sorry I couldn't get back on right away, but there was a party of guests waiting for me to move them into their cottage as soon as I showed up at work. What did I miss?

And so it came to pass that Manus, Trianne and Serrica joined forces to kick the snot out of both Four-Eyez and the Monstrous Troll Warchanter in record time. And they had quite the merry romp doing it. A pleasure as always, Grivel and HolyRedeemer. Trianne can see Serrica for her third of the booty. Don't worry; Serrica won't cheat you...old Pirate's Code and all that jazz. Also, the offer for those Coral Gloves still stands.
