Is this Xfire thing something that could help attract future PIers? This probably could use a thread of its own but here comes a short answer: ...Well...yes...it could... Firstmost for me X-Fire is something that helps me play NWN and meet/talk/join servers. For me NWN is a co-op game more or less and it is a great help. Xfire in general could be used to advertise and try to get people. No doubt about it. Note however that most players on Xfire are action oriented even though there is a fair share of roleplayers as well. My guild itself and some other NWN communities could also be used for this. Speaking of my own guild I have to warn you though...that it is a MULTI - PW guild...so sooner or later that list will change...servers come and go from that list...but sure...for now Pirate Isles is all up there...and hopefully that atracts some more players. I have quite the following myself...thanks to Xfire amongst other things...however...this specific server was found by one of my Xfire friends and not me personally hehe.... It is all very fluent though. So this is not really something to rely on. Sure it can help...but it can also detoriate. I'm just saying that many players are Server Hoppers Anonymous...like me. On the other hand...Server Hoppers is what is saving new servers...because if there wasn't server hoppers new servers would never have players because of the general "sheep" mentality when it come to servers in NWN...most players just sort the servers on most players online and join that one and also tend to stay with their server forever...which gives a very stale community. To cut a long story short...for the moment...the guild is firstmost for NWN in general and secondly for specific servers/PW's...even though it actually started out as a dedicated guild for my own server.... Summarizing: Xfire can not only help this server get more players but also it can help you play the game with your friends and also find new friends to play with. Hopefully more will get Xfire...it works great together with NWN :-) Phew...no more sales talk for me now :-PAny more questions? ..perhaps easier ones this time :-P |
