the rules say "no wacky subraces" what does that entail?
do the Genasi count as wacky? or maybe things like aquatic elves?
what subraces are allowed?

Luckbringer has final say on all rules; this is my understanding of "wacky" in this context. under Server Rules (Character Restrictions), the official line reads thus: "No non-standard sub races will be allowed. No drow." as clarification, and again my understanding, this means humans are entirely human (with the notable exception of those PCs with RDD levels, which is class-derived, not race-derived), elves are entirely elves, etc. further, if a sub-race includes abilities that aren't given to PC races in NWN, that sub-race probably isn't allowed (aquatic races likely included for that reason, however plausible they seem in the context of the setting and module). one last thing i'll add as food for thought: i have seen a PC with not one, not two, not three, but all four limbs replaced with "pirat-y" ones (ie wooden legs and hook hands). a PC this "wacky" can expect to have a very short life span, either literally (hard to fight that way, and the balance- and manual dexterity-related issues WILL be statistically enforced, even if the DM is willing to indulge in this level of silliness, by say a Curse for example), or figuratively (straight up character deletion), or both. expanding people's horizons with innovative character concepts is encouraged. stretching people's ability to suspend disbelief by playing something that doesn't fit the game engine or the setting isn't encouraged. aaaaand... having looked that over, it might sound a bit harsh, but it isn't intended to be, it's merely intended to be clear and concise. any other questions, fire away!

Also note that there are opportunities to play guest characters that are more exotic.

is it possible for example for me to make a genasi? purely for RP purposes because they all get like +2 to int for water and fire etc etc and a spell per day but if we ignore those stat increases and decreases (RP them but not have them if they want)
because i think a water genasi would be very useful for scouting, getting food mid journey what with their ability to breather underwater (no script is needed could say they are used to sea water than fresh water or what ever comes to mind)
fire genasi would be useful for the ability to cook food (again RP wise) and keep the ship warm in winter or rainy storms,
an air genasi again is useful to help get the ship faster or blow air into another ship to send it their way for raiding
an earth genasi could be useful but isnt really practical, could perhaps help dock or perhaps cause loose rocks to fall if a ship is near a cliff (just random examples)
i only ask this because i prefere to paly something different (im happy with the character i have as i have used him for a long time and i think people will enjoy the particular backstory twist ive given to help him fit into the land) but i would prefere making a genasi

Genasi are not allowed as general player character races at this time. You could certainly have a genasi guest character, though.
