Some low levels ( 1-5 ) Familiars and Animal Companions have been tweaked, expect the sucky ones to be less sucky and expect some of the uber ones to be less uber. Please note these changes are not reflected on the familiar and animal companion level up screens.
The gap between them should be a lot closer then before. Some now have specialist skill sets.
Plus other surprises.
There is a small xp penalty if familiars ( not Animal Companions at this time ) die. It is 15xp times the masters level plus a small random amount. This is to reflect the bond between the two and since most of the wimpy ones don't die as easy it should be bearable. Will be hardly noticed at low levels but not enough at mid and high levels to warrant being afraid to bring them out. Remember the Unsummon quickslot is your friend.
Each player is encouraged to come up with their own creative RP when familar's are defeated. They ran and hid, turned invisible or got sucked back to their plane.
Will update mid level and higher versions once I see the low levels ones in action.
