Analysis 1
My initial assessment of Palaggar and some of the islands surrounding it is that it is humid due to sea water and the swamp marshes, and that leads me to a conclusion that the island must have mild winters. The other reason that this conclusion makes sense to me is the local insects that inhabit the area. These insects are of unusual size and have aggressive tendencies, attacking anyone or anything that get too close to them. My theory is that due to the mild winters the insects don’t die off during the freezing winters and are able live past their normal life span given multiple life times to feed and grow. I have seen bugs as large a horses. I will have to figure out a way to do a controlled experiment to see if this is the reason for their size.

Analysis 2 The nature of this island is fill with pirates and cut throats that would kill their own mother if it would make them some money. This brings me to my next analysis with the savagery of the island folk. It seems that many people that explore this island died of the things that were crawling in the shadows, but some of the skeletal and decayed remains that I have found tell a different story. I have found on some of these bodies nothing more than a loin cloth and a bashed in skull. I have thought this out quite a bit, and goblins that I have seen cannot do the damage inflicted to a human skull like that, ogres can but they usually take their victims home with them, and animals just tear a body apart. I believe I have just as much to worry about in town as exploring the islands.

Analysis 3 Seeing what I have seen on the island with corpses and skeletons scattered all around, and how some of them possibly died in the field of work they did leads me to believe it was not a peaceful death. This brings me to my third analysis on the undead that inhabit this island. The undead in some ways to me seem different to me in the way of intellect and combat. I have been ambushed multiple times and in some ways I feel I’m sparing with a novice warrior. The way some of the undead are acting I feel they are looking for some sort of closure or vengeance, but that could be the paranoia battle when fighting these monstrosities. The only way I could confirm any of this is to capture one and do a long term study on it. I have also been coming up with another theory that maybe the island itself could be the one making these undead act the way they are, unfortunately, there is no way of proving that without some powerful magic to see if this island is hiding something else.

Analysis 4 After the most recent discovery of these mathematical equations and other magical theorems, I find that this island may pose a possible danger to its inhabitants. I understand parts of what the paper work was saying, but not enough to know what the paperwork was testing. I looked at some of the mathematical equations and it seemed gnomish in nature, but I cannot be sure on that with my limit knowledge of gnomish magic making or whatever gnomes call it. All I know is I have seen some of the top ranked students and teachers at the temple doing theories and equations and nothing comes close to what I have seen. Enclosed in the back of the journal is a copy of the paper work and other things that I have found that might prove valuable in figuring out what this person(s) was doing. My guess it has something to do with my last analysis, but knowing me I am just being paranoid again.

Analysis 5 I have been on the island now for about three weeks now, and I have been notice that there is an odd amount of enchanted items or well crafted items. It would only make sense with all the trade harbors and piracy that goes around in these waters. The only reason I find it odd is that instead of finding it on the coast line where it washed up on shore, I have been finding the same concentration of items deep inland as well. I was thinking is pirates could of went deep into the island to hide some of the items, but why for something that might fetch 40 lions, that is too risky for what I have seen in those woods. I think this island is hiding something, but there is no why of testing a whole island from what I studied. I think I will be needing some lab equipment from the temple to run some experiments. I am also going to run another experiment with the priest when they get here. Enclose will an enchanted item from the island for you to test.

Analysis 6 I have come to the conclusion that I will not be able to do all these experiments on my own, so I will have to employ some unknowing subjects and catalog the outcomes. The way I will go about this is by helping my subjects expand their knowledge and skills in their selected profession(s), but I will have to be clever about how go about helping them. I can’t just give items away they might get suspicious about my true intentions, but I will be more then welcome to give them a very fair price for it. My major problem is if someone catches on to what I am doing, because some might say I am helping the enemy. The only retort I have is that I am helping by studying the enemy and giving other people leverage against them, regardless if the enemy is a paladin of Torm or a necromancer of Velsharoon. I guess what it comes down to is knowledge is survival and I will do anything to survive and protect those who share that view.
